Injury and Relaps

As you can see I haven't posted in a while.  Some of it was due to a really bad winter that didn't let me train in the great outdoors ( I hate running on a treadmill).  So when spring came to Canada I started to train with a group (couch to 5k) which was great.  It got me going and started to get my cardio back.  Unfortunately, I was hit by cold that sidelined me for a month and work got in the way.   Soon I get better and then I start to play baseball and get this horrible charley horse in my quad.  It hurt to walk, stretch, or even run.  What is a girl to do?

PHYSIO....I can honestly say I didn't really know how many muscles connect to each other to run.  Turns out I had a tight quad and back muscles which seized up and had to get dry needling.  I hate needles for the flu shot and here I am laying on the table to "release" the muscle all the way up to my back.  I started to feel like a voodoo doll but it worked.  So I started running slowly again with the dream to run a Marathon in October (2 months to train from zero to 26.2 miles).  I ran every day I could on holidays, even on days that I sat in a car driving for 10 to 12 hours.

Well, don't I get injured again.  I know have a really tight calf that only hurts after running 10 minutes but goes away after 20 minutes running if I push through.  I have tried rolling (painful if you have to do it on yourself), stretching, acupuncture, and massage.  Still not going away.  So again, I have relapsed and the dream of running a marathon this weekend has gone away.  I am sitting here disappointed and trying to get back into running.  What is a person to do?  Most people get the message that maybe running is not your sport and to give up.  NOT ME.  I got into the Nike San Francisco run so I can't give up and I like running  so I will put on my running shoes and get on the road and run, run, run....
