As I got up this morning after my first run yesterday, I felt not too bad, no soreness. That was until I put my feet on the floor and tried to stand up. My quads were crying "you want us to do what?" I did get up walking, stretching them out as I got ready for work. Putting on makup as I stand on one leg holding my other foot at my waist. An hour later sitting at my desk my back started to seize up. Just from my shoulder blades to my waist. Who knew you needed those muscles to run. Maybe that is why I always see runners with good posture? The one thing this has made me realize is that along with the mental toughness, your muscles need to be strong and not just the ones in your legs. What to do? I got a trainer....
Okay, it's not like I just called one out of the phone book. H and I have been "seeing" each other on and off since last year when I started to dream about running Dopey. She has been there for the highs and the lows by my diet and exercise. I think she loves when I come and say to her I have not done anything since I saw you two weeks ago but I have hit every fast food restaurant from in a 300 km radius or my personal favorite french fry bicept curls. She pushes me like no one else can.....and yes she YELLS at me when I quit at 13 out of a 15 rep exercise. So today I went for a 30 minute visit. There were pull ups, push ups and jump squats and the occasional if you want a rest you have to do it faster.... then I think she takes pitty on me and lets me have a break every 5 rounds.
So now as I watch Kitchen Nightmares I will be rolling my legs over my orange log as I call it. It is suppost to be like a massage for my muscles but when I hit that sore spot, I just want to cry
